The Official Launch of the Alliance Française de Sydney took place on Thursday 5 November 2009, in the presence of Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO Governor of New South Wales and son Excellence M. Michel Filhol Ambassadeur de France en Australie. 

French champagne kindly supplied by Bistrow and canapés by Bécasse were served at Le Grand Café following the official ceremony.
