Paths to Abstraction, 1867-1917
Join curator Terence Maloon for a private tour of the exhibition Paths to Abstraction to discover the artists based in France, (such as Cezanne, Matisse and Kandinsky) who contributed to the development of abstract art. Following Terence’s tour, he will read extracts from writings by Guillaume Apollinaire, Blaise Cendrars and Tristan Tzara, contemporaries of the painters who explored the concepts related to emergence of abstract art.
5.30-6.15: Terence Maloon, Paths to Abstraction 1867- 1917 Curator, will introduce the French artworks in the exhibition (in English)
6.15 - 6.45: Readings (in the original French, with English transcripts provided) by Terence Maloon and Samuel Huet
6.45: Wine and Cheese
