Job description

The Festival Assistant will be in charge of assisting the Festival manager in events, marketing, communication and sponsorship in order to deliver an outstanding Festival. The list of duties that will be expected to be executed in the 6 months include, but are not limited to:


  • Provide support and execute marketing and communication strategies for the Festival
  • Assist with the creation and production of marketing materials: flyers, programme, website update, e-newsletter
  • Coordinate content for Festival social networks and EDMs, and copywriting content
  • Coordinate cross communication with festival sponsors and partners (editorial, ticket sales promotions, giveaways etc.)
  • Coordinate Festival website creation with Festival website developer and graphic designer and manage daily updates


  • Assist the manager with local and national sponsors and make sure all the obligations of AF FFF to the sponsors are met (e.g. brand visibility on festival’s promotional materials, display of sponsors’ materials in cinemas, organisation of private screenings etc.)


  • Assist with the preparation, organisation and running of Festival events (setup, general logistics, coordination for Opening Night, Closing Night, Special Events and Private screenings)


  • Participate in meetings with sponsors and partners, and internal discussions on achievements and strategies
  • Writing up of internal documents and reports
  • Liaise with local festival teams and Festival venues

The successful applicant

We are looking for a graduate with a background in business and cultural studies. The successful applicant must have a passion for the arts (especially cinema) and speak English fluently, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive and hardworking attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A ‘can do’ and hands on attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and on deadlines
  • Previous experience in communication & project management preferred
  • Previous experience in working for a cultural event/film festival highly regarded
