An Exhibition of French Landscapes and Figurative Works

Inspired by a lifelong fascination with France, Cathy Shugg’s Histoires are contemporary artworks from recent art residencies in Champagne and Provence.

The exhibition features works painted en plein air and inside the artist’s studio. Shugg’s watercolours, ink sketches and collages speak of moments, scenes and encounters in France. These intricate landscapes and figurative works investigate the relationship between France’s natural and human environments and culture, now and in the past.

To be opened by the Willoughby Mayor, Councillor Gail Giles-Gidney.

Artist talk: Saturday 9 February, 2pm at the Gallery.

Histoires runs from 30 January to 10 February 2019.
