Petanque (paytonk or paytank) aka boules is the quintessential French pastime and what originated in the South of France is perfect for the Great Southern Land! Petanque is easy to learn but challenging to master and a lot of fun to play with family and friends and even better with lots of friends, especially if you can also practice speaking French!
The Boules Artistes Petanque Club organises events both social and competitive, with players of all levels joining in for fun and the chance to win some prizes; and you don’t have to be a champion to win a prize! Beginners are welcome and instruction and equipment is provided.
They organise events in Kirribilli (Milsons Point), Centennial Park, Randwick, Bexley, Lennox Head and Ballast Point (near Balmain).
Most events are held on Sunday or Saturday afternoons with some midweek twilight petanque in summer.
All Alliance Francaise de Sydney's members are offered free social membership to the Boules Artistes Petanque Cub for the financial year 2014-2015 (membership is normally $35.00). Members wishing to continue membership when it expires will be required to pay the normal fee to continue.
Note: This offer is not open to members of petanque clubs or holders of a Petanque Federation of Australia playing licence.
