Message from Lyn Tuit, President of the Board

"On behalf of the board of directors, I’d like to thank you for your ongoing support in 2021.

It’s been another tough year for many of us with an extended lockdown. We’re pleased that so many of you signed up to continue your French classes online and others joined us for Zoom cultural events.

Our team has worked very hard to provide enriching cultural and educational experiences for our customers and planning is well under way for 2022. In this COVID-19 era, long-term planning is not easy, but we are hopeful that you will be able to join us again for a glass of wine at our events, coffee and delicious treats in the café which will reopen in February and celebrate Bastille Day once again in person.

Classes will be offered both online and in person next year so what better way to plan for your long- awaited overseas trip than to brush up on your French before heading off to France.

I’d like to wish our incoming General Manager, Valérie Nicolas a very warm welcome. Some of you may remember her from her stint at the Alliance from 2004-2007.

I’d like to thank our outgoing General Manager Philippe Ostermann who is taking on a new role. Our teaching and administration team including Philippe have worked tirelessly under difficult circumstances as has our very active board of directors. We are very appreciative of the dedication of both the staff and the board.

We are very grateful for the invaluable support of the French Embassy, the Australian Government, the NSW Government and our loyal sponsors without whom the Alliance Française French Film Festival would not be possible.

Best wishes for the festive season to all our customers and supporters et merci à tous!"
