GUEST PRESENTER: ANNABEL GASSMANN
Annabel Gassmann is a highly experienced French teacher, an Editor for the K-10 French NESA syllabus and the lead author of the Quoi
de Neuf? Senior
textbook. Annabel has worked as a Chief Examiner for the HSC French Beginners course and Assessor for the French Continuers and Extension
courses, and today works as a tutor in the French department of the University of Sydney. She brings her wealth of knowledge and experience
to this year’s Carnet de Vacances with an unmissable workshop on “How to create valid and engaging assessment tasks”.
GUEST PRESENTER: ADELE WALKER
Adele has been teaching French in Australia and overseas for more than fifteen years. As a Head of Languages in two Sydney independent
schools, she has overseen the delivery of both NESA and IB DP curricula. She has also taught students in K-10 at an international school in
Germany. In recent years, Adele has moved from the position of Head of Teaching & Learning at an independent school in Sydney’s eastern
suburbs to a classroom teaching role at a comprehensive public high school in south-western Sydney. In addition, she tutors pre-service
language teachers at UNSW and has worked at NESA for over ten years as a marker and examiner. She has completed a Masters of Education with a
focus on language teaching. Above all, Adele is a passionate classroom teacher with a love of engaging students in the study of languages.
