Compete with students all over the world in an inter-alliances competition!

The 2024 Le Défi Inter-Alliances returns with a special edition focusing on the Francophonie!

Join us to represent the Alliance Française de Sydney in this exciting competition centered around French and Francophone culture, competing against learners from Alliances Françaises worldwide for a chance to win an unforgettable trip to Paris.

The competition takes place in 4 stages, with different prizes each time.

• Local selection:

Friday 26 April at 1pm online
First prize: A conversation course for 1 session in 2024, Second prize: A gift bag with goodies from our partners

• National selection:

Friday 10 May at 7pm online
A night’s accommodation in a Sofitel hotel of their choice in Australia

• Geographical zone selection (new in 2024):

Saturday 1 June at 6pm online
Trip to Paris to participate in the international final

• International final:

Tuesday 1 October in Paris (time TBC)

It is an online trivia quiz in French, organised by the Alliances Françaises network around the world. In a nutshell: a fun way to practise your French, to test your knowledge of French culture, and to proudly represent Sydney & Australia in an international competition!

You want to participate? 

- Be a current student or be enrolled in a course at the Alliance Française de Sydney
- Be over 18 years old when registering to the competition.
- Have a minimum level of A2.
