FRENCH WINE SCHOOL PRESENTS Rhone Valley virtual Wine Masterclass

Virtually immerse yourself in the Rhone Valley, learn and taste wine with experts, buying tips and more.

The Rhône Valley produces some of the most famous wines in the world and has been growing grapes and making wine since the Romans arrived in 121 BC. Join a virtual Rhône Valley wine masterclass from the comfort of your own home, and you will be guided through a fun and enlightening tasting hosted by Brigid Kennedy of French Wine School and renowned Master of Wine Andrea Pritzker.

What you will learn:

  • Why the location of Northern and Southern Rhone means such vastly different wines.
  • How the appellation system of France got its start (knowing this system alone gives you an edge in understanding wine quality and reading labels)!
  • The impact of the Rhone River and the Mistral wind on growing grapes and making wine.
  • Geology, topography and climate differences and what that does to wine.
  • What influences the flavours and scents in wine and key differences in Northern and Southern styles.
  • Tasting 6 benchmark wines from Northern and Southern Rhone.

How does a virtual tasting work?

It’s very relaxed! First you will cover the back story of wine, history and differences in regions, main part will be tasting of wines, and lastly will be an open Q&A. You can ask questions all the way through via the chat function, and the hosts aim to cover them off during the tasting or the open Q&A.

Once registered, you will receive a password and link to join the tasting.
